Manchester Super Giants celebrate winning their maiden Men's Hundred title in 2026

Manchester Super Giants have finally done it! 🏆

Manchester Super Giants have won their maiden Men’s Hundred title, and what a way to do it. They defeated Trent Rockets by 5 wickets in the final to lift the trophy for the first time.

Every team plays a tournament with one goal — to win it. And when that goal is finally achieved, the happiness and emotions of the players are truly worth watching.

We got to see exactly that in the Men’s Hundred final, when Manchester Super Giants won the match. And the celebrations that followed were absolutely incredible!

First inning: How it started

Trent Rockets batted first, but Manchester Super Giants’ bowlers put on a brilliant performance and restricted them to 158 runs.

Noor Ahmad was the standout bowler, picking up three wickets, while Sonny Baker also chipped in with two wickets to keep the Rockets under control.

Manchester had done a great job of restricting them to a manageable total, but still, this was a final.

And 158 in a final is never an easy target.

Because the pressure of a final is something completely different.

THE SEIFERT SHOW 73(38)

Chasing the target of 158, Manchester Super Giants got off to a strong start, with Tim Seifert playing a sensational knock of 72 runs off just 38 balls. 🔥

His explosive innings kept Manchester ahead of the game throughout the chase.

This was exactly the kind of innings you want from your big player in a final.

But the match wasn't over until the very end.

Manchester Super Giants kept moving towards the target, but Trent Rockets continued to fight. The game went deep into the final stages, and it looked like the result could go either way.

And then came the finishing moment.

Liam Dawson hit a six in the final over to seal the victory for Manchester Super Giants.

Just like that, Manchester completed the chase and won the final by 5 wickets.

And this is a special moment for Manchester Super Giants because this is their first-ever Men’s Hundred title.

From a competitive 158 by Trent Rockets to Seifert's match-winning 72 and Dawson's final-over finish, Manchester Super Giants produced the kind of performance that champions need.

The trophy is finally theirs.

Impact Player Rule in T20 Cricket: Rules, Strategy & Examples

What Is the Impact Player Rule? The Impact Player Rule is one of the most significant innovations introduced in modern T20 cricket. Under this rule, a team can replace one player from its playing XI with a nominated substitute during the match, giving it an additional tactical option beyond its original combination. The main idea behind introducing the Impact Player Rule was to make T20 cricket more dynamic, strategic and entertaining while adding a new tactical dimension to the game. Teams can make decisions based on the match situation, pitch conditions, batting or bowling requirements, and the strengths and weaknesses of their opponents. The rule is most prominently associated with the Indian Premier League (IPL) , where it has become an important part of team strategy. Other T20 competitions have also experimented with their own forms of tactical substitutions, although their systems and regulations are not necessarily identical to the IPL's Impact Player Rule.
